Earth Shop & Café, Carvoeiro (P)

We are back in Portugal for a little ‘time off’ from our busy lives in Belgium. Time to relax, time to enjoy the sun, although the weather is not quite as good this time. We have been to the Algarve several times before and we already visited lots of villages along the coast line. But this is the first time in Carvoeiro.

It is very windy but we decide to walk along the wooden walkway. It is about 500m long and you get a magnificent view over the ocean.

Unfortunately it starts to rain while we are walking so we run back to our car and drive towards ‘Earth Shop and Café’, not so far from the walkway.

The interior of Earth Shop & Café is bright and airy with large tables and a bar with a nice sea view.

We got a tip to check this place out. And yes… it was a good tip!

We start with a latte with almond milk and an espresso. I absolutely love lattes and the almond milk is a good alternative for soy milk which I usually drink. The espresso is made with Illy beans and tastes very good as well.

Earth Shop & Café serves delicious salads, sandwiches and more organic and healthy food. Because we are getting rather hungry, we order the weekly specials. For me a vegetarian quiche with 6 different veggies and goat cheese and a salad on the side. The quiche is made with whole wheat dough and is delicious!

We also other the warm potato salad with quail eggs, peas, home made pesto, bacon and a cherry tomato side salad. And this tastes very good as well!

And because we both have a sweet tooth, we can not leave Earth Shop & Café without ordering dessert. After a meal, nothing is better than a good coffee with something sweet. So we order an affogato, a marrochino and a piece of to-die-for chocolate cake.

The shop offers a varied selection of different deli products, wines and olive oils and different sorts of gifts. When in the neighbourhood of Carvoeiro, Earth Shop & Café is definitely the place to be!
